Sky Paper Talk

DAILY TELEGRAPH

Harry Kane will call time on Bayern Munich's bid to sign him if the German club cannot agree a deal with Tottenham Hotspur this week after seeing their latest offer rejected.

The future of David Moyes as West Ham United manager is in doubt, despite the club closing in on their first signing of the summer.

Jorginho is prepared to snub interest from Turkey and fight for his place at Arsenal. Fenerbahce were keen on his signature but the 31-year-old Italy midfielder isn't willing to ditch the Gunners.

Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge is in talks with Burnley over a potential move. The 25 year-old has one year left on his contract.

THE MIRROR

The Premier League will not move Arsenal's match with Nottingham Forest on Saturday, despite the game clashing with England's Women's World Cup quarter-final.

Manchester United are eyeing Leeds star Tyler Adams as an alternative to Sofyan Amrabat as they seek more summer signings.

Erik ten Hag will try and offload six more players before the summer transfer window opens. Dean Henderson, Fred, Eric Bailly, Donny van de Beek, Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire could all leave.

THE TIMES

Bayern Munich are considering whether to make a fourth bid for Harry Kane after having an £86m offer rejected by Tottenham Hotspur.

Paris Saint-Germain are ready to sell Neymar in another sign of the end of the "galácticos" era at the club. The 31-year-old has told the French club that he wants to leave and it is understood PSG would accept an offer of between £60m and £70m for the player.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has compared his latest fitness programme to undergoing a "factory reset" and is convinced he can recapture the form that made him an England regular.

West Ham are close to making their first signing of the summer after agreeing a fee of £34m for the Ajax defensive midfielder Edson Álvarez.

THE ATHLETIC

Arsenal have turned down an opening offer from Monaco for Folarin Balogun. Monaco want a striker to replace the injured Breel Embolo and are keen on the Arsenal striker, who impressed on loan with Reims last season.

DAILY MAIL

Moises Caicedo was absent from Brighton training on Monday as he tries to force through his move to Chelsea. Chief executive Paul Barber, however, had earlier stressed the club expect him to be available for their Premier League opener at home to Luton Town on Saturday.

Chelsea could break through the £1bn barrier in player purchases under Todd Boehly's ownership by the end of this month. Last week's £38m signing of Axel Disasi from Monaco took the total spend on players since Boehly bought the club to £768.7m.

Chelsea followed that with the £25m signing of Robert Sanchez from Brighton and want to land at least four more players for manager Mauricio Pochettino before the window closes.

Nottingham Forest are among those to have approached Kasper Schmeichel about a return to England from Nice.

MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS

Tom Heaton is expected to remain a Manchester United player following productive talks with Erik ten Hag.

THE SUN

Chelsea are in talks to sign Neymar after he handed in a transfer request at PSG, according to reports. The forward has attracted interest from several clubs this summer. The Blues have been in contact with Brazilian's representatives over a transfer all summer, according to RMC Sport.

Matt Turner is set to be in goal for Nottingham Forest against his old Arsenal team-mates on the opening day of the season. The 29-year-old USA international is expected to complete his £7m move to Forest on Tuesday.

Guardian Rumour Mill

Barry Glendenning

While the Rumour Mill spent much of last night dreaming it was on a road trip to Inverness with Ad-Rock from Beastie Boys in a vintage Caterham 360R SV sports car made entirely of mashed potatoes and Cathedral City mature cheddar cheese, it seems Neymar has less lofty ambitions preying on his mind when his head hits the pillow. According to L’Équipe, the Brazil striker has told Paris Saint-Germain he wants to leave the French capital and “dreams” of a return to Barcelona. Reports elsewhere say his “people” are in talks with their flustered counterparts in Chelsea’s recruitment department over a move to Stamford Bridge, where the arrivals and departures halls have been busier than Heathrow’s Terminal 5 this summer.

Manchester United remain open to selling Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay to West Ham and are currently mulling over the Europa Conference League champions’ £60m bid for the duo. Should they offload Maguire, United will try to bring in the tough-tackling 23-year-old Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo as his replacement. United are also open to offers for their Brazilian midfielder Fred, who has a number of admirers including the Turkish champions, Galatasaray. Any proceeds raised will be pooled with whatever loose change they can get for Donny van de Beek and put towards the cost of prising Sofyan Amrabat away from Fiorentina. The Chelsea target Tyler Adams and the Everton midfielder Amadou Onana are being considered as alternatives should United fail in their quest to sign the Moroccan international.

Signed to very little fanfare and quite a lot of Gooner grumbling in January, Jorginho ended up being a fairly decent acquisition by Arsenal but could find himself on the move again. Fenerbahce are reported to be giving the Italy midfielder the glad eye, although reports in some quarters suggest he is happy to remain at the Emirates.

Having been linked with moves away from Manchester City for more transfer windows than anyone cares to remember without ever actually going anywhere, Bernardo Silva once again looks likely to remain at the Etihad if his club’s stance on potential offers from PSG or Barcelona is anything to go by. City’s overlords are adamant they want their Portuguese superstar to stay and have drawn up and sent him a generous new contract to sign, should the mood take him.

Chelsea want the Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic and Juventus want the Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku, in a potential swap deal that sounds like it ought to be fairly straightforward but almost certainly won’t be anything of the sort. Meanwhile at Crystal Palace, Michael Olise is reported to have admirers at both Manchester City and Chelsea, even if his manager doesn’t seem sure. “No one knows really at this moment in time,” said Roy Hodgson, upon being asked about the 21-year-old’s future. “If there are clubs who are desperately or seriously preparing a bid and tempting him away then he’ll have a decision to make. He also knows we are really very keen to keep him here.”

Having underwhelmed at Leicester last season, when he scored just four goals as his team sank into the Championship, Patson Daka could be given to opportunity to repeat the feat if Everton get their way. Meanwhile on the red half of Merseyside, Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has labelled Liverpool’s attempts to sign Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia as “embarrassing” after the club he represented with such distinction had a third bid of £45m plus add-ons rejected by the Saints, who are steadfastly holding out for £50m.

Star says potential £17m Burnley or West Ham move would be ‘crazy’

Dan Owen

Feyenoord’s Eredivisie winner Quilindschy Hartman is aware of the ‘crazy’ pace of his progress with Premier League duo Burnley and West Ham United now interested.

Speaking to Voetbal International, the 21-year-old left-back points out that, if things had worked out differently, he could have left De Kuip for Excelsior just 12 months ago.

You can probably call it a ‘sliding doors’ moment. Hartman missed out on a return to his former employers during the summer of 2022, and found himself lifting the Eredivisie trophy into the Rotterdam sky a year later.

Hartman wasn’t even a regular in the Feyenoord XI until November. By the time the season came to an end, however, he was one of the first names on Arne Slot’s team sheet; his aggression and acceleration at both ends of the pitch ensuring Hartman played a major role as Feyenoord ended their six year wait for domestic glory.

And, by his own admission, reports linking him with a £17 million move to Burnley or West Ham is something Hartman would not have even dreamed of back in 2022.

Burnley and West Ham keen on Quilindschy Hartman

“Only, last year I was almost at Excelsior,” Hartman beams. “(Considering that) it’s crazy to talk about the Premier League right now.”

According to Rotterdam-based publication 1908, Burnley are willing to meet Feyenoord’s £17 million asking price. Vincent Kompany’s side have turned to the Netherlands U21 international while growing frustrated in their pursuit of fellow Dutchman Ian Maatsen, who appears to have a future at Chelsea after impressing Mauricio Pochettino in pre-season.

Hartman, however, is keen to keep his cards close to his chest.

“You see, if you’re young and you’re doing well, (suitors) will come,” he adds. “We’re going to see what’s going to happen.”

West Ham are also keen.

A move to the London Stadium, however, could depend on whether Aaron Cresswell stays or goes; a move to Wolves now in doubt for the veteran full-back.

Benfica has Gonçalo Ramos' replacement: Pedro

As AS was able to confirm, Benfica would have been in direct contact with Flamengo to probe the incorporation of Pedro Guilherme. The striker is looking for a second chance in Europe.

However, the operation itself looks complicated, the Flamengo board of directors will not sell the best player on their squad at a bargain price. Negotiations are expected to continue this week, although the player has also received interest from various clubs from the Old Continent, especially from Spain, Italy and England (Nottingham Forest and West Ham). From Saudi Arabia they would have also tried to convince the striker, receiving a 'no' as an answer, waiting to be able to compete at the highest level again next season.

Supporter dissatisfaction you say? I think we can do that.
